RUST and TYPICAL AREAS
reasons for rust are lower quality of sheet metal, minor corrosion protection and lot’s of manual operations in the plants. Nowadays zinc coated sheet metal and modern 6 or even 7 axle robots in body and paint shops ensure a continiously and high level of quality. Typical rust areas on classic cars are floors, rear quarters, clinching on closures, trunk and inner windshield cowls.

UNI-BODY vs. BODY-ON-FRAME
are 2 different framing designs. The Uni Body design is specified as a complete body in white from the firewall to the trunk. Later the front end will be welded to the uni body. The Body on Frame design consits of a single frame with a mounted body and is an older construction. The Body on Frame design is always used for Pick-Up’s and cars of the 50’s.

SAE vs. DIN PS…
there is a difference in the measurement of output. SAE horsepower is measured on the end of line testing units w/o auxiliary units up to 1972.

MATCHING NUMBERS
compliance between VIN number of engine, body and interior. Mostly these numbers can be found on the engine block, dash and doors or A pillar.
